Dan was born in New Orleans and raised in Kentucky, and started playing guitar at age 13. After college he moved to Nashville. He spent several years doing session work and playing guitar for various national country artists (Tracy Byrd, Bryan White, T.Graham Brown, Andy Griggs) and was signed with his own band, Stone, to Sony Music Nashville.

In 2007, Dan and his brother Matt founded Weston Boys Entertainment, an independent label and publishing company based in Nashville and Austin. His first solo record, Dan Cohen, yielded two adult contemporary radio hits and several placements in film and television.

He also began writing with Jace Everett, whose song “Bad Things” had just been chosen as the theme song for HBO’s True Blood. Jace signed with Weston Boys and his first record on the label, Red Revelations, has sold about 80,000 copies to date. They have toured together in England, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Australia, and throughout the US. The two continue to write, penning many of the songs on Everett’s 2011 release Mr. Good Times and the upcomingTerra Rosa, both on Weston Boys as well.

Dan’s new record, Bluebird, is expected to come out in January 2014 and it’s the best work of his career. He has reached a new level of honesty and passion in his songwriting, singing, and playing.
